Located in the Mpumulanga province, Middleburg is a large farming and industrial town Middleburg is home to Columbus Steel- a large stainless steel plant and Thos Begbie - a company established over 120 years ago.. The steel plant, with its activities such as coal and transport has provided the town with employment and also largely contributes to the economy. Agriculture has also grown to be very important in terms of contributing to the economy of Middleburg.
