Collaborative Careers are assisting a large manufacturing concern to recruit for an Assistant manager - Supplier Declarations

The successful incumbent of this position will fulfill the necessary requirements within the Department to meet objectives with regards to interaction with the operational staff at the supplier responsible for the administration of the declarations as well as the senior management (Fin Manager and CEO/Gen Managers) to ensure that the organisation is not overly exposed to risk of non-compliance in accepting Supplier declarations under the APDP

Minimum Requirements:
NQF5 qualification (minimum 240 credits) studying towards NQF 6 qualification (minimum 360 credits)
Must have costing experience in a manufacturing and import/export environment.
APDP and FTA Rule of Origin experience will be an advantage.
Must have a strong back ground in completing visualisations and presentations coupled with excellent computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
Must have a drivers licence
Customs and Excise knowledge will be a definite advantage

Key Duties:
Collect and review APDP declarations from Suppliers by using the worksheet to ensure all required declared values are received to support APDP and SADC FTA.
Checking and compliance customs value verification to ensure these are executed and administered timely, (internally and at company suppliers), in terms of declarations for Automotive Production and Development Program (APDP) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
Checking and compliance customs verification of export and import documents internally and at company suppliers in terms of the APDP Form C1 and SMD declarations for accuracy and completeness.
Once satisfied that the values are correct and compliant, the values must be made available to the Quarterly Customs Duty Account, APDP Costing and SADC FTA minimum price process.
Initiate and implement contingency plans on any findings and continually monitor implementation of these plans to effectively minimise risk.
Effective and efficient, verbal and written, communications with all stakeholders (internal and external) regarding any matter that may arise in the performance of the verification function.
Co-ordinate and attend meetings with suppliers, company departments and governmental departments when required to so in line with your area of expertise.
Timely and accurate management and KPI reporting based on a thorough analysis of the verification process.
Monitor any production changes that may impact on declarations for APDP. Effectively implement the countermeasures and plans to manage any changes internally and with Suppliers.
Effective documentation management and filing in line with business, SOX and ISO standards.
Development and support of business specification and implementation for new and existing systems.
Supplier training and upliftment on APDP requirements, regulations and legislation.
Preparing of presentations an visualisations for the department.
