Job Title: C&I Technician /SNR Mechanician
Location: Lime Acres
Closing Date: 10 August 2015

Job Description:

This job requires the individual to maintain service, repair and modify electronic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical instruments and process control systems in the Engineering Department.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Investigate and diagnose problems and breakdowns to determine resource requirements and order spares.
Carry out repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance work on all C & I control systems to comply with product technical specifications.
Co-ordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters.
Analyse equipment efficiencies and recommend or implement improvements and changes to maximize operations.
Attend to the relevant administrative functions, such as data pack (loop drawing) management.

Minimum Requirements:

National Diploma obtained through T3, S4 or N6 in the field of Electrical / Electronic Engineering Light Current / NTC 6 Diploma; OR
Relevant N4 Certificate, with an Instrumentation Mechanician Trade Test Certificate and more than 5 years’ experience as an Instrument Mechanician
2 - 3 years relevant industrial experience in Control and Instrumentation
Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
Code EB Driver’s License

Other Skills / Competencies:

Ability to communicate effectively in English
Knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC and Communication systems and SCADA (Citect)
Standard field instruments
Standard control systems
Knowledge of loop tuning
Independent, pro-active thinker and have the ability to do own job planning

Preference will be given to suitable candidates from the designated groups in line with the Company’s Employment Equity Policy and Plan and internal candidates.
