Job Description

Carrying out repairs, maintenance and preventing work on all Control and Instrumentation equipment and related systems.
Attending relevant administrative functions
Analysing equipment effectiveness by recommending and implementing improvements and changes to expand operations
Coordinating and monitoring equipment reachable to ensure adhering to production parameters
Monitoring, installing, servicing and reconditioning variety equipment, instruments and control systems
Executing control and instrumentation projects in line with project management principles
Investigating and diagnosing problems to establish resource requirements and ordering spares
Installing and Maintaining radiation equipment in line with maintenance schedules and requirements
Monitoring the implementation of new equipment and systems
Monitoring, benchmarking and evaluating technology to ensure ongoing improvements
Optimizing performance of equipment by ensuring effectiveness and giving guidance
Performing risk assessments
Installing and Maintaining networks, de-energize and lock-out equipment
Perform any other Ad Hoc required within the company from time-to-time

Minimum Requirements

N6 Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation & Process Control / Instrument Technician through College must have Trade Test (Instrumentation /Instrument Mechanician) OR
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) / Instrumentation and Process Control through Technicon / University (no Trade Test needed)
At least 3 - 5 years experience in Control & Instrumentation environment within the mining industry
Certification in Siemens S7 PLC / SCADA / Adoit advantageous
Knowledge of process instrumentation fault-finding in Siemens PLC environment
Computer Literate
Valid Driver’s License
Required to work shifts, overtime, standby and call-outs if required
