CORPORATE FUNDRAISER AND GRANT MANAGER

A dynamic Non-Profit Organisation that provides holistic support to Children country wide who are suffering with life-threatening blood disorders and cancer is currently looking to employ a dynamic, driven and passionate CORPORATE FUNDRAISER AND GRANT MANAGER.

The primary role of this is the development and writing of proposals, grant/funding opportunity research, seeking opportunities and managing grant compliance and reporting.

Education, Training, Skills and Experience
• Grade 12 and a diploma or degree in fundraising or related qualification.

Experience:
• A proven track-record in fundraising, preferably in raising funds from corporates and FOIs.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in proposal writing, either and preferably in a non-profit organisation or in the commercial/corporate sector.
• Knowledge and experience in using the CRM platform.

Essential skills, attributes and abilities:
• Proven ability to develop and write excellent proposals.
• A high level of proficiency in English.
• An understanding of the local and international donors, the NGO sector and fundraising trends.
• High level computer literacy (MS Office).
• The ability to take initiative / see opportunities.
• Attention to detail.
• Good general organising skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, and willing to work after hours when faced with deadlines.
• Ability to function smoothly under strict deadlines and shifting priorities.
• A team player who also works well independently.


Key performance areas

• Developing and writing dynamic funding proposals.
• Researching and approaching (national and international) FOIs (foundation, organisation and Institutions), trusts, government agencies and other bodies that could potentially make grants/donations.
• Managing/facilitating the grant application process.
• Work with the PDM (Programme Development Manager) on the grant monitoring process and manage the grant reporting process, to meet donor requirements.
• Assist the CEO, DDM and CHOC in general with the development of an effective fundraising strategy, in line with the organisation’s strategic plan.
• Support the growth, development and sustainability of the company from a funding base.
• Develop, write and submit reports to donors timeously.

General Management KPAs:

• Tracking and coordinating all funding applications being made nationally to corporates, Trust or FOIs.
• Develop and train Regional Managers (RMs) and Fundraisers, where needed, to develop their fundraising capacity, particularly around proposal development. To offer guidance to regions on proposals where needed. At times even to the point of leading/facilitating the proposal development and writing process for a Region.
• Oversee the Fundraising Reporting process, nationally.
• Provide regular (quarterly) corporate fundraising reports; and well as Work with DDM, RMS and BDU to develop reports (for both internal and external purposes).
• Work with the CEO, Board Fundraising Committee, and BDU to identify and pursue fundraising / business development opportunities, as well as develop contacts /networks that could lead to additional exposure and funds.
• Support donor data management input into the CRM system as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the DDM and the Communications Manager to develop marketing materials for corporate / institutional donors.
• Assist DDM and CEO in the creation of a BDU budget, as well as assisting the DDM and CEO with general tasks relating to BDU and fundraising, as required and requested.
