This person, who will get the chance to apply his/her experience in research/benchmarking on best employee benefit practices, job grading and benefit design. Reporting to the Manager: Human Resources Services, he/she will also manage the Personnel Administration Department as a supporting function.

This dynamic role will involve such functions as supporting the formulation and updating of related policies, procedures and practices, as well as continuous market research relating to employee benefits (with the view of strategically positioning the company’s employee benefits strategy and policies). He/she will lead team members within the Personnel Administration function towards the meeting of objectives within a customer service-orientated department (including aspects such as salary, wage and benefit administration, housing administration and management reporting), and will assist with or lead diverse projects related to employee remuneration and benefits. The Manager will also take ownership of the grading system and conduct job evaluations. Continuous improvement of service delivery and all employee benefits and compensation-related processes will be the main goal.

This highly numerate candidate should be able to think systematically and have effective interpersonal and communication skills to build sound partnerships. A tertiary qualification or equivalent is needed, along with sound knowledge of best practices, and basic knowledge of labour legislation. Computer literacy (high-level competency in MS Excel) will be essential. Knowledge of employee tax will be an added advantage.
