Our client, an international FMCG producer catering to an elite level of customers, operating according to the most stringent quality standards, are seeking a Food Quality and Quality Assurance Officer to be responsible for total quality management and quality assurance for their facility. Quality standards are regulated by SEDEX, HACCP (SANS10330), ISO 22000, OHSAS 18001 FSSC 22000and GMP SANS 11049. The quality suitable candidate has to ensure that the organisation remains accredited and are constantly prepared to pass any audit.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:

Driver's licence and own vehicle
A relevant tertiary qualification is required (ND Food Technology or related)
5 – 7 years industry related experience in a similar post
Extensive knowledge and experience in the above mentioned systems
Management of self and sound interpersonal skills
EXCEPTIONAL RESILIENCE TO PRESSURE
Providing direction to large team of staff
Facilitating change where necessary in a change adverse environment
Supervision and management of large team experience
FMCG / dried goods production and materials handling
Production and Production Planning

Job Duties:

Good Manufacturing Practices
Maintain procedures relating to food safety, hygiene, shelf life, visual appearance of products / lines
and presentation on the shelf
Hygiene of employees, visitors and contractors and hygiene audits.
Cold chain disciplines
Cleaning procedures and standards
Rodent, insect, bird, foreign body and glass control
Train employees in GMP’s.
Product flows including QC checks
Correct start-up, lunch time and shutdown procedures

Management of people:

Management of people in line with company procedures and legal prescribes.
Setting, monitoring and ensuring meeting of targets.
Managing of overtime, leave and sick leave to ensure legal compliance.

Quality Assurance:

Intake-, On-line- and dispatch QA , Shelf life samples, quality and traceability

Maintenance:

Planned maintenance program, supervising repairs and maintenance
Refrigeration, Low Risk, High Risk, vacuum cooler

Interfacing with customers:

Customer complaints: investigate and reply to customers
Trending: Manage the system that keeps record of all customer complaints, RTM’s and other quality related complaints, and analyse to show trends.
Take corrective actions to minimise complaints.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stock control – accurate stock counts, neat, logical and tidy storage
Labelling material
Client promotions
Liaison with major retail customer distribution centres regarding offloading slots, equipment and equipment counts.
Ensuring that loads depart on time.
Servicing of and communication to various customers
Supervise all safety and hygiene related personnel

Package: R240k p/a TCTC commensurate with experience and qualifications.
