Job Holder Specification

Qualification and Experience required:

Formal Education: Diploma OR relevant qualification in Human Resources Management or related field.

Technical Education: Registration at IPM is recommended

Experience: Four years personnel and industrial relations experience, including two years administrative experience.

Functions of Appointment:

• Prepare and compile post profiles in consultation with the Operational Management
• Appoint personnel in conjunction with Operational Management
• Ensure adherence to the Human Resources ISO Recruitment & Selection Procedures
• Monitor on site induction of new recruits
• Ensuring that personnel files kept at regions are in the correct format
• Administer the personnel termination system
• Monitor the conduct of exit interviews
• Administer the promotions and demotions, performance appraisals, transfers and all retrenchments in the relevant region
• Implement relevant training & development programmes for security officers
• Assist with career path planning & identification of training needs for specific employees within the region
• Report quarterly on performance appraisals
• Assist in implementing the Employment Equity Plan
• Deal with general queries including but not limited to; Recruitment & Selection, Transfers, Retrenchments, Terminations
• Arrange FBS pay out to the beneficiaries/dependants of the deceased
• Notify the family of the deceased about his/her death, if it was death on duty
• Request documents from beneficiaries/dependants
• Submit documents to ABSA, through the SA HR Manager for the death claim
• Follow-up with ABSA through the SA HR Manager until the claim has been finalized
• Provide all necessary documentation to NBC (board of trustees) for approval and payment
• Inform the finance department, employee and Operational Manager about the results
• Attend to medical aid queries
• Provide guidance, assistance and counselling services with regard to EAP
• Co-ordinate EAP and ensure compliance to EAP policy
• Monthly report to the Personnel Manager
• Ensure Constant Training of HR Clerks.
• Participation in monthly HR, ERC and Union meetings

Note: Must be willing to relocate to Witbank/Middelburg area
