Requirements:
• Suitable HR qualification & 4+ years HR exp
• Preferably have valid license & own car
• OHS officer experience would be favourable

SCOPE:
Plan, direct and coordinate human resource management activities of company and subsidiaries to maximise strategic use of human resources & maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies & regulatory compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.
• Manage performance with the COO and ensure adherence to KPI
• Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
• Allocate human resources, ensuring appropriate matches between personnel.
• Provide current & prospective employees with info about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages & opportunities for promotion
• Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, dismissing employees & administering disciplinary procedures.
• Advise managers on organizational policy matters and recommend needed changes.
• Analyse & modify compensation and HR policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
• Ensure a strong culture and leadership within the organisation
• Serve as a link between management & employees by handling queries, contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
• Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of staff relating to employment, compensation, labour relations, and employee relations.
• Analyse training needs to design employee development, training and health and safety programs.
• Maintain records & compile statistical reports re personnel-related data (new recruits, transfers, performance appraisals etc.)
• Analyse data and reports to identify causes of personnel problems & develop improvement recommendations for company’s staff policies and practices.
• Plan, organize, direct, control or coordinate staff, training, or labour relations activities of an organization.
• Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
• Investigate and report on industrial accidents for insurance carriers.
• Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
• Negotiate bargaining agreements and help interpret labour contracts.
• Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs.
• Prepare and follow budgets for personnel operations.
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests.
• Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
• Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
• Develop and/or administer special projects in areas such as pay equity, savings bond programs, day-care, and employee awards.

• Ensure compliance with the BEE Act and the score card
• Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Act and for the offices and sites
