Our client has a vacancy for a HR Officer: Organisational Development
Location: Hatfield
Job summary:
To support the Senior Manager in managing and enhancing the organisation’s corporate services by practicing sound people management, co-ordinate and oversee the implementation and control of the organisation’s performance management system, training and development, employee wellness and health programme and talent management strategies. This position requires continuous contact with individuals at all levels of the organisation on a variety of matters.

The HR Officer will provide support to the Senior Manager through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPA’s):
•Organisational Development
•Performance Management
•Employee Wellness and Health Management
•Training and development
•Talent Management

1.Organisational Development
•Apply knowledge in organisational assessment to support the design, development, implementation and evaluation of change management programs and organisational problem solving.
•Assist with the compilation of the monthly and annual OD reports as required
•Communication and education of all HR related issues and building awareness around it
•Conduct research studies of physical work environments, organisational structures, communication systems, group interactions, morale, and motivation to assess organisational functioning.
•Compile batteries of suitable psychological tests to be used to assess skills, abilities, and interests for the purpose of employee selection, placement, and promotion.

2. Performance Management
•Develop and facilitate the implementation of performance management
•Develop and implement a personal development programme for succession plan candidates as determined through Succession Planning

3. Employee Wellness and Health
•Develop, implement, monitor and report on the Quality of the Work-life Programme including strategies, policies and procedures
•Assess and evaluate the Employee Assistance Programme

4.Training and Development
•Develop and address Training and Development needs
•Participate in relevant Sector Education Training
•Conduct and/or arrange ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members.
•Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires
•Facilitate an array of professional development programs, including components of the management, leadership and customer service curriculum.

5. Talent Management
•Develop Talent Management strategies aligned to business strategy
•Drive the employer brand management plans and employee value proposition/s
•Conduct employee perceptions surveys to retain and attract talent
•Strategic and operational plans
•Scheme rules and regulations
•Scheme policies and procedures
•Board and Committee decisions

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or similar
•A postgraduate qualification would be advantageous
•Registration as a psychometric would be an advantage
•Registration as an HR Professional with the South African Board for People Practice would be beneficial
•3 - 5 years’ relevant experience in a human resource management function
•At least 3 years in an Organisational Development position
•Extensive knowledge of Organisational Development methodologies
•Extensive knowledge of employee wellness and health programmes and methodologies
•Knowledge of training and development methodologies and principles
•Knowledge of performance management systems especially Balance Scorecard
•Training and Development Facilitation Skills
•Excellent skills in dealing effectively with both individuals and groups of individuals at a full range of levels on a variety of work related issues and influencing them to change their behaviour
•Oral Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
•Excellent, written and numerical comprehension - understanding written sentences, paragraphs, and numerical data in work related documents
•Good writing skills - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
•Ability to effectively deliver leadership, management, and/or function specific programs
•Demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions based on data and statistics
•The ability to demonstrate the highest level of ethical behaviour.
•The ability to study and apply new information to the HR policies and practices
•Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships— developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time
