Our International Client is a leader in the Renewable Energy industry based in Cape Town. They have an opportunity for a HSE MANAGER to join their EPC Team in the Northern Cape on a Fix Term Contract of minimum 12 months.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:
Diploma or Certificate e.g. SAMTRAC; Nebosh
Excellent knowledge and experience in Occupational Health and Safety requirements and OSHAS 18001 Safety Management System
5 years’ on-site experience in Renewable Energy, especially Solar background is imperative;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritising of workload with attention to detail;
Computer literacy with good numeracy skill;
A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning;
Self-motivated with a willingness to accept responsibility and challenges;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Duties & Responsibilities
Follows regulatory practices and rules
Promotes hazard reporting and ensures effective safety reporting
Models and promotes an organisational culture that fosters safety practices through effective leadership
Provides and articulates information regarding safety issues within the organisation
Assists in the continuous improvement of the hazard identification and safety risk assessment schemes
Environment, Security and Building maintenance
Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
Perform safety audits and inspect facilities and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities
Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes
Coordinate employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short- and long-term strategic safety planning and development
Order and maintain facility safety inventory including supplies and equipment
