My client, a reputable industry leader in the supply chain trade has an exciting opportunity for an HR Professional to join their Human Capital Department.

Main job purpose:
To manage an effective and efficient operation of the Human Capital Department to achieve the organisations objectives and strategies.
The Human Capital Manager is responsible for providing support in the various Human Capital functions.

Key Performance Areas:

The duties will include but will not be limited to;

HR Administration
• Manage and monitor the effective administration of employment conditions to all employees.
• Drafting of Human Capital Department policies and implementation thereof
• Ensure all required documentation of new employees is received, authorised and filed
• Ensure that attendance register audits are performed on regular basis and compare to leave records and overtime records by relevant
subordinate
• Manage and ensure that all leave requests are processed
• Prepare correspondence-memorandums and reports internally
• Ensure loan applications are processed, recorded and authorized
• Ensure that all new employees on the Scubed Human Capital System and also update the payroll department timeously
• Manage the overall administration of Human Capital Department
• Preparing medical aid forms, communication and follow-ups

Recruitment and Selection
• Manage the review, development, and implementation of a streamlined recruitment and selection procedure.
• Manage the provision of a support and administrative service to all line managers in the areas of short-listing and the constitution of
interview panels.
• Ensure the regular compilation of recruitment and vacancy statistics and reports, as required in terms of the Human Capital Planning
process
• Prepare and compile advertisements for vacancies available
• Manage the screening of CVs processes
• Keep record of all advertisement placed with relevant reference numbers, dates, applicant names and reason for rejections or acceptance
• Ensure that applicant references are checked and confirmed by Personnel / Human Resource Administrator
• Liaise with preferred recruitment services suppliers regarding candidates.

Strategic Planning
• Ensure and manage the development of the Human Capital Plan and align with the strategic objectives as well as to drive the
implementation thereof.
• Ensure the alignment of Human Capital/ Resource policies and procedures to meet the human capital strategic objectives.
• Ensure the alignment of Human Capital Plan to the Employment Equity Plan (BBBEE) and strategic intentions of the organisation.
• Ensure that the organisation meets its reporting requirements in respect of human capital management.
• Ensure and provide strategic human capital management support to the senior / executive management team.
• Ensure the effective and efficient management of human resources management information within the Department.
• Updating of Human Resource policies in accordance with latest legislation.

Payroll
• Preparation of all payroll inputs to be processed by Payroll Administrator
• Ensure salary adjustments are processed and authorised by providing all necessary information to payroll
• Ensuring all overtime is pre-authorised by management

Performance Management
• Ensure the development of an integrated performance management approach, in support of achieving the strategic objectives and priorities.
• Ensure the uniform and effective implementation of the performance management system across all departments.
• Monitor the performance management findings and evaluate the impact on the achievement of the organisation’s strategic objectives and
priorities
• Ensure job evaluation on all mandatory posts is conducted in line with policy requirements
• Conduct organisation work-study investigations into effective and efficient utilisation of resources, to identify resource requirements and
optimisation of business processes.

Training and Development
• Provide strategic leadership and ensure the development of a training and development strategy and plan that is aligned to the strategic
objectives and priorities of the organisation.
• Ensure the alignment of the training and development plan to the strategic objectives and priorities.
• Ensure the provision of resources for the effective implementation of the training and development
• Ensure the development of a talent management strategy and plan, aligned to the long-term strategic intentions and objectives.
• Implement induction programme for all new staff members

Labour Relations
• Ensuring Labour Legislation compliance on handling employee grievances, termination, recruitment or disciplinary procedures

Experience:
• Matric
• BCom Human Resources Degree or 3 year equivalent qualification
• Basic certification of VIP Payroll (an advantage)
• 2 - 4 Years HR management experience
• 5 – 8 years general HR experience
• Fluent in Zulu (an advantage)
• AA/EE candidates preferred

Skills:
• Basic Microsoft Office package knowledge
• Knowledge of all applicable Acts: SDA, PFMA, LRA, BCEA, EE
• Knowledge of SETA landscape and National Human Resource Strategy
• Knowledge of VIP Payroll
