Human Resources Operations Manager (strictly EE)

Requirements

Appropriate 3 year Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Behavioural Sciences from a reputable tertiary institution (BA / BCom / BSc)
Minimum of 8 years of experience (at least 4 on a management level)
Statutory submissions (BEE, SDL and UIF etc.)
Understanding of payroll
Clear credit, no criminal record, academic transcripts available on request
Valid South African driver’s license and own reliable vehicle

Responsibilities

Recruitment

Manage recruitment process from start to end
Advertise vacancies, assess applications, interview suitable applicants
Draft regret letters to unsuccessful candidates and contracts for new hires
Finalise induction programme for new employees with the training department
Process probationary reviews for management positions
Analyse skills required for jobs and develop job descriptions and interview guides
Employment Equity compliance

Budgeting and cost management

Drive HR costs and manage HR budgets as set out by EXCO (i.e. headcount, reduce recruitment costs, casual wages and unplanned overtime)

Performance management

Manage subordinates by ensuring that PMK and PDP are in place and achieved
Implement performance management / talent management initiatives
Ensure that performance management is standardised
Monitor, evaluate and report results

Employee relations

Represent the company at CCMA/NBCCI level for conciliation and arbitration
Consult and advise management and staff on all labour related issues

Employment equity

Comply with employment equity and adherence to plan
Submit the Employment Equity Report to the DOL within a specified time frame
Consult with Employment Equity committee and give input towards the development of the Employment Equity plan

HR reporting and administration

Manage the HR administration process
Analyse monthly reports
Timeous processing of all related HR documents

Policies and procedures

Develop, update and implement all HR policies and procedures
Ensure compliance

Remuneration
Cost to company including medical aid, pension fund, risk benefit and annual performance based bonus
