My client has a vacancy for an independent HR Consultant. The role will ideally suit an experienced HR professional who consults independently. The requirement is around 20 hours of work per week, at agreed flexible times.

Responsibilities

Payroll – this takes place weekly and will include all the admin, leave forms and processing on VIP
Talent management and succession planning – implementation and management thereof
Industrial relations and labour issues including policies and procedures
Performance management – assisting line managers with managing this process (includes KPI development, poor performance and structures)
Preparation and submission of annual statutory reports to the relevant Authority / Department e.g. Employment Equity, Skills Development Levy, SETAs, Workman's Compensation etc. – must have experience in record keeping, gathering the required information, preparation and submission
Learning and development – plan, manage and submit workplace skills planning and reports (WSP and ATR) and implement ABET
Employee engagement – manage activities pertaining to employee engagement and change management to drive culture and values across the business
Recruitment – generally run per department once the requisition is approved, however assistance and advice to line may be required when hiring new employees

Requirements:

Honours Degree in Human Resources or Behavioural Sciences
10 years of experience in an HR Generalist role with 3 years at a senior level
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
VIP payroll management and system experience
Strong understanding of LRA and BCEA
Experience with preparation and submission of statutory reporting

Mature and able to maintain confidentiality
Problem solver, interpret information and draw meaningful conclusions
