Job Description

Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
Independently set up and operate Computer Numerical Controls, VMC & Boremill machines whilst ensuring it is in accordance with the customer specifications
Proactively identifying and solving problems/delays
Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
Maintaining key relationships with the sub-contractor’s production, warehouse & purchasing teams
Maintaining all machine shop repairs and maintenance records
Inspect complete work (quality control) with tools such as micrometers, callipers, rulers, height gauges etc.
Manufacture components accurately to drawings
Focussing on minimizing the cost impacts of non-quality
Strive for no non-conformances
Ensure the required tools are available for production and foresee the needs for possible work orders
Comply with the company’s guidelines, procedures and legal requirements
Reporting to management in terms of time schedules’, equipment quality and solutions
Good housekeeping

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 5 years working experience within the manufacturing environment
Matric
Qualified as a Turner/Machinist
Proficient user of Mastercam
Experience on Edgecam, Inventor and AutoCAD will be advantageous
Experience with tools and gauge’s is essential
Knowledge of Lathe and bore mill machines
Fine tolerance
Knowledge of cleaning, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on Computer Numerical Control machine
Fluent at reading drawings
