RedCat Recruitment is seeking a MASTER PLANNER for an international concern – position based between Pietermaritzburg and Durban.

JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12.
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management OR equivalent with 5 – 10 years of prior experience in a supply chain / production planning function.
Preferably have experience in the packaging film or packaging converting.
Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
Interact with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with sales, marketing and production to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
Ability to use a demand planning tool as the primary forecasting system tool.
Provide input to the supply planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
Closely coordinate and communicate customer and production action plans with supply planning.
Plan and establish the master production schedule using the company sales forecast.
Ensure all resources are available to meet the schedule developed.
Meet with the Production Planner to understand the manufacturing process and orders in process to initiate necessary steps to maintain conformity with schedules to ensure timely availability of products to customer.
Interface and coordinate between production, procurement, quality control, sales, distribution and finance departments.
Participate in production meetings.
Assist with accuracy, development, documentation and implementation of procedures and standards.
Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
Able to plan the work flow and work demand for a packaging film manufacturing from the ordering of raw materials to the dispatching of the finished product.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Should have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Technical knowledge of packaging manufacturing.
Understanding of importing and exporting of raw material and film products.
Enterprising, highly driven attitude.
