We are looking for a highly motivated doctor with well developed decision making skills who can deal with both strategic and operational issues in a demanding 24/7 environment. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach with strong organisational capabilities. International experience would be advantageous.
Based at our Assistance Centre the Medical Director - Assistance will provide leadership in the delivery of medical assistance services to our clients. Over thirty medical staff in the Assistance Centre provide a wide range of services including medical evacuation, medical assistance, managed healthcare, occupational health and crisis management. You will be a key member of the management team and will have the experience and credibility to deal with senior figures within our clients’ organisations as well as having strong links to the medical community
Provision of medical assistance also includes the appropriate medical support to remote site medical staff and provision of medical topside and maritime support to clients and their members in the offshore environment.
Overall Purpose
• To provide clear leadership in the delivery of professional and effective medical services for clients to the highest standards of excellence.
• To be responsible for the oversight of a professional medical team within the Johannesburg Assistance Centre.
Required Work Experience
• Completed Internship and community services
• 5 + years relevant post community service experience
Required Qualifications
• Grade 12
• MBChB
• Independent registration with HPCSA
• Post graduate qualification or experience in travel health, international health, remote/emergency medicine, occupational and/or family medicine advantageous
