Our client is searching for an experienced and skilled merchandise planner who will be developing implementing and controlling all aspects of planning
Planning Responsibilities
Set up quarterly Category plans
Produces an assortment plan with Buyer using last year sales trends and management guidelines
Working with Buyers and Suppliers
Ensuring that the right mix of merchandise reaches the right stores at the right price right on time
Controls overall department margin to target given by management
Manage markdowns through stock management
Manages store stocks and allocations to stores vs budgets
Develops knowledge of and reacts to slow/fast sellers
Sales performance of department
Actual stock vs budget
Store stocks Actual vs budget
Gross margin Actual vs budget
Display guidelines sent out regularly and timeously
Achieving deadlines set by management
Producing accurate reporting
Minimum Requirements
Must have planning experience from the clothing fashion apparel footwear or accessories industry &ndash Accessories planning experience would be an advantage
Minimum 5 five years&rsquo experience preferably with a retailer in a Planning role
Must have leadership skills and experience
BCom BSc or other numerate tertiary qualification
Analytical and organisational skills
Numeric ability
Systems orientation
Influence maturity energy and raw ambition
Salary R25 000 to R30 000 per month cost to company
