Nurse Trainer

A Healthcare Company who is passionate about providing Clinical Care to HIV positive adults, children and adolescents is currently looking for a dynamic and driven Nurse Trainer, KZN.

The incumbent will support comprehensive HIV management at selected DOH sites within eThekwini Health District. We are looking for a qualified and experience Trainer to facilitate internal and external training programmes to support capacity development within the public sector HIV service environment. This position is based in Durban, but the incumbent will be required to travel within eThekwini and to other districts as necessary. The successful candidate must have their own vehicle and be willing to travel

Education, Training and Experience
• Basic R 425 qualification(Degree/Diploma in Nursing) or equivalent qualifications that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council(SANC) as a professional nurse
• Post basic qualification in Nursing Education ®istered with SANC
• Current South African Nursing Council receipt
• 3 years training experience
• SRH/PHC/HIV/PMTCT/IMCI Qualifications & or experience
• 5 years’ experience as a Professional Nurse
• Good research and analytical skills
• Ability to control group situations and facilitate groups
• 5 years related working experience
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, in an MDT environment & under pressure
• Reliable, Flexible Positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
• Knowledge of
• Knowledge of PEPFAR reports

Key performance areas

• Identify training and development needs within the organization and as well as externally
• Design, develop, review & evaluate training programs
• Deliver presentations compiled by NDOH and on-site mentoring to staff at the facilities
• Guidance and assistance of staff with queries
• Evaluate training/instructional materials, teaching aids and other educational devices
• Create assessment and evaluation tools
• Monitor and review the progress of trainees by using questionnaires and through discussion with managers. Implement assessment strategies to determine the trainees competence
• Ensure that statutory training requirements are met
• Compilation of training statistics
• Report writing.
