Our client, currently one of the largest Adventure Tour Companies in Africa is seeking an Operations Manager to join their dynamic and vibrant team in the Somerset West Office. The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated, organised and comfortable in a high pressure environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Candidate must be very involved and active in taking on this practical role
Scheduling of 50+ vehicles, 20+ weekly departures and 15+ departure points
Planning truck schedules, routes and drivers
Direct management of a 6-person team and remote responsibility of 100+ crew members on the road
Support to crew on the road and ability to deal with mechanical, medical and logistical challenges
Liaison with the driver if something goes wrong on the road and arranging emergency breakdown repairs in remote areas
Instructing guides and drivers what to do and making sure clients are happy
Liaison with the lodges and or tented accommodation facilities when guests arrive
Management of permits, reporting and financial controls
Management of fleet costs, guide expenditure and operational budgets
Minimum Requirements:

Matric

Tourism or other relevant qualifications
Experience in Tour Operations
Proven management experience required
Destination Knowledge of Africa essential
Fully bilingual in English & Afrikaans
Computer Literacy, excellent knowledge of MS Office suite, Tourplan and vehicle tracking software
Commitment - the positions requires flexibility and after-hours availability

Salary On Offer:  Market related (experience dependant) + Provident fund and occupational healthcare program for everyday Dr’s expenses.
