Job Title : Operations Manager
Qualification : Tertiary Qualification in Operations
Requirements : At least 10 years’ experience in Operations
warehousing distribution, ISO 9001:2015 and understand Food
safety.
At least 5 years Management experience is required.
Code 8 driver’s license.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of the relevant ISO quality management systems.
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft packages.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
• Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of the operations.
• Fleet Management – Maintain national fleet, servicing and compliance. Ensure fleet utilization optimization, monitor fleet running costs and address where necessary.
• ISO – Manage ISO system, ensure system is current, support all staff on procedures and training.
• Audits –Preparations for onsite customer audits are managed and all necessary supporting documents and procedures made available. Address any findings and report back on findings and recommendations. Implementation of corrective actions and training as per ISO 900:2015.
• Compliance – Ensure compliance and legislation is adhered to and that all documentation, certification and training is up to date
• Financial - Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Control inventory. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company. Ensure all operational costs are monitored and running costs are reported on.
• Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures, in line with legislation and ISO principals.
• Human Resources - Plan the use of human resources. Organize recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish organizational structures. Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise staff. Monitor and evaluate performance. Plan and lead disciplinary inquiries.
• Communication - Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT, HR, Accounts and Finance. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.
• Customer Service - Manage customer support – supporting internal sales.
• Strategic Input - Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.
