Pattern Maker - Gerber
African Nature is a local clothing company based in Tokai, Cape Town, specialising in men’s and ladies technical and outdoor wear.
We have an excellent opportunity for a highly organised, experienced and talented Gerber Pattern maker to work in collaboration with the designer in the development of patterns for first samples.
Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working on Gerber V8 or higher and excellent communication skills.

Duties include:
• First patterns for new samples
• Spec measurements
• Liaise with sample machinists & sample cutter
• Fit samples with designer
• Amend patterns

Requirements:
• Pattern making Diploma/ Degree or equivalent Clothing Management Diploma
• 5-8 years’ work experience
• Proficiency on Gerber V8 or higher
• Knowledge of grading
• Experience in apparel with variety of patterns
• Understanding of pattern filing management and organization
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organization skills required as well as the ability to proactively self-prioritize workflow to ensure deadlines are met
• Ability to proactively trouble shoot and problem solve
• Collaborative team player
