Phlebotomist - FTC

SM Healthcare Placements is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Phlebotomist based Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal for an exciting role within an International NGO in the health care field.

The following are the qualifications, experience, knowledge and attributes requirements:

Education, Training and Experience
• Registered Enrolled Nurse/Phlebotomist
• Must be prepared to travel to different sites
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council
• Minimum of 2 years working experience
• Proven Phlebotomy experience
• Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
• Valid Driver’s License
• Certification in basic HIV
• Phlebotomy experience with children
• Ability to work in pressurized environment
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Key performance areas

• Responsible for taking bloods in adults and venepuncture skills especially on children in line with ARV National Guidelines.
• Accurate completion of all documentation.
• Adherence to universal precautions as per infection control policies and procedures.
• Identify patients for fast tracking for the ARV programme.
• Responsible for communicating and filing patient results in patient files.
• Responsible for collection of data in line with policies and procedures.
• Other ad hoc duties in line with the nature of the role. (Insertion of intravenous cannulea or cannula).
• Participate in and contribute to the development and achievement of corporate goals and objectives.
