Phlebotomist

A Healthcare Company who is passionate about providing Clinical Care to HIV positive adults, children and adolescents is currently looking for a dynamic and driven Phlebotomist, KZN.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the taking of bloods and identifying patients for fast tracking of the ARV programme

Education, Training and Experience
• Registered Enrolled Nurse/Phlebotomist
• Must be prepared to travel to different sites with roving team.
• Professional body registration
• Registered with the South African Nursing Counsel
• Required minimum work experience
• Minimum of 2 years working experience
• Proven Phlebotomy experience
• Certification in basic HIV
• Phlebotomy experience with children
• Ability to work in pressurized environment
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Key performance areas

• Responsible for taking bloods in adults and venepuncture skills especially on children in line with ARV National Guidelines
• Accurate completion of all documentation
• Adherence to universal precautions as per infection control policies and procedures
• Identify patients for fast tracking for the ARV programme
• Responsible for communicating and filing patient results in patient files.
• Responsible for collection of data in line with the policies and procedures
• Other ad hoc duties in line with the nature of the role. (Insertion of intravenous cannulea or cannula)
• Participate in and contribute to the development and achievement of corporate goals and objectives.
