Plant Operator - GMR2.7
Introduction

Our client is looking for a GMR2.7 Plant Operator to act as the authorized assistant to the O&M Plant Manager and will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of two facilities around the Northern Cape.
Description
Education and Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric
Qualified as a competent person as described in General Machinery Regulation of the OSH Act.
Obtained an engineering diploma in either the mechanical or electro technical (heavy current) fields with an academic qualification of at least T3 or N5, or of an equivalent level, and who subsequent to achieving such qualification has had not less than two years' practical experience in the operation and maintenance appropriate to the class of machinery he is required to supervise;
Graduate Engineer and has had not less than two years' post-graduate practical experience in the operation and maintenance appropriate to the class of machinery he is required to supervise and who has passed the examination on the Act and the regulations made thereunder, held by the Commission of Examiners in terms of regulations E5 (2) of the regulations published under Government Notice R.929 of 28 June 1963
Certificated engineer
Experience in designing and implementing plant safety regulations
Deep experience in electrical switching activities
Experience in electrical safety training including operating regulations for High Voltage Systems (ORHVS)
Experience in implementing NFPA 70E and /or IEE 1584 standards
Experience in implementing a distributed switching processes
Competencies

Very good MS word and MS Excel skills; exposure to MS Project (or similar4) and MS power point would be advantage.
Competent in all communications including clear, concise emails; report writing and presentation skills
Able to manage stress and high-pressure situations
Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
Good team play able to balance team and individual responsibilities
Able to handle multiple projects, priorities work and work effectively under limited supervision.
Responsibilities

Systems view in implementing electrical safety programs
Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems
Ability to read and understand schematics
Knowledge of primary and secondary plant testing would be an advantage
