Key Purpose


To monitor and drive all related HSEQ policies and procedures at the Terminal. To undertake the physical maintenance operation in order to optimise the physical assets of the terminal. To manage third party / contractor upliftments.  To manage the receipt. Storage, Handling and Distribution of bulk fuels and additives.


Key Responsibilities



  • Receipt, Storage, Handling and Distribution of Bulk Fuel products

  • People management

  • Management of 3rd party contractual agreements and transport carriers

  • Asset management

  • General administration

  • Interface/ Relationship Management

  • Transport management

  • HSE Management

  • Receipt, Storage and handling are done according to prescribed specifications and standards

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes


Knowledge



  • In-depth knowledge of major company – operated bulk fuels operations.

  • Sound knowledge of electrical pumps and meters

  • Knowledge of Depot Operating equipment

  • Knowledge of capabilities and use of fire fighting equipment

  • Detailed knowledge of OHSE Act, labour legislation

  • In-depth knowledge of transport operations / management

  • Working knowledge of contract management principles

  • Basic knowledge of the petro-chemical engineering design principles, components and equipment relating to depot operations.

  • In-depth knowledge of costing principles, eg. Transport, planning and budget control.

  • An understanding of outbound logistics.

  • Knowledge of SAPR/3 system (SD, TD,MM,CO)

  • Knowledge of depot operations

  • Knowledge of the petroleum industry

  • Working knowledge of inter-company supply and accommodation

  • Good knowledge of disciplinary and grievance procedures

  • In-depth knowledge of petroleum vehicle operating systems

  • Above average computer literacy


Attributes



  • Ability to work under pressure 


Qualifications & Experience



  • Matric or Equivalent

  • Minimum NTC 3 – Mechanical fitting

  • Diploma Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)

  • 3 years relevant operational experience in Petrochemical industry
