Purpose of the position: Managing suppliers and a portfolio of customers. Most importantly selling.
***Large blue chip company based in the Kempton park area has a permanent vacancy for a qualified & experienced person with the following:

Qualifications and expertise required (Must)
• Grade 12.
• Must have a tertiary qualification in a chemical or related field.
• Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in chemical purchasing and Product Management.
• Minimum 3 – 5 years’ sales experience in a sales capacity.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Paint & Coatings Industry.
• Must have experience in managing foreign suppliers and principles on supply chain matters.

Required outputs: Functional
• The Product Manager will be required to manage the Resins and Additives product range.
• Liaise on all necessary product related issues with local and international sources.
• Interact with Key Accounts and grow market share with regard to his or her product range.
• Must be able to communicate product trends with the national sales team and accounts when necessary.
• Implement strategies for effective procurement.
• Must be able to source and evaluate new potential sources.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers.
• Manage stock levels effectively and procure in accord with forecasts and Working Capital.
• Provide regular summaries and analyses of product and market trends, stock movement, profit trends, threats and opportunities.
• Determine selling prices on his/her product range.
• Must be prepared to travel.
