Projects Manager – IAF Division (EE only), Edenvale - Johannesburg –- Ref: 716897-8

Our client currently has an opportunity for a Projects Manager – IAF division to be responsible for the Department’s successful execution of all IAF projects and contracts, reporting to the General Manager IAF.

The successful incumbent will oversee the design, engineering, technical and drawing office function within IAF projects as well as staff management.

Job Description

• Overseeing QC/QA/Expediting function
• Overseeing the Health & Safety function for IAF projects.
• Development of project processes and controls.
• Financial control particularly with respect to invoicing, turnover and COS figures
• Financial control and checking of Procurement and costs at Project level.
• Direct control of commercial and contractual aspect of Projects
• Strategic planning, budgeting, progress and financial reporting
• Staff support, mentoring and training
• Client and sub-contractor/supplier liaison and negotiation
• Liaison with Finance Department in terms of invoicing, payment and commercial agreements with clients
• Liaison/co-ordination with Operations Division and Alrode Assembly workshop
• Liaison and close communication with IAF sales and IAF/Finance admin staff.
• Develop and monitor conformance with Company and Departmental procedures
• Liaison and close communication with QC and Expediting function

Qualification and Experience: Desired Skills and Experience:

• National Higher Diploma, BTech or Degree (Preferably Mech. Eng.)
• Tertiary business/commercial qualification would be an advantage
• Approximately 10 years’ experience in the industry of which 4-5 years would be in a managerial role
• Good understanding of Project and contract management
• Managed project engineers and worked with projects from beginning to end.
