Our client is looking for an experienced Quality Controller from the food industry based in the Silverton Pretoria area

Essential Requirements
• Own vehicle
• Drivers Licence
• Diploma in Food Technology or a degree in food science or any other food related higher education
• Minimum 2 years work experience in the food production industry
• A good understanding of food safety & quality management & food regulations
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, SOP ,Pest Control & Bakery operation

Physical Requirements
• Able to stand for up to 12 hours, while working with and around machinery.
• Ability to work in a plant environment for extended periods of time (able to work in high temperature/high humidity environment)
• Able to work weekends and public holidays in a fresh bakery environment

Objective
• Monitor overall on-line quality and food safety systems of the Bakery
• Monitor on-line Critical Control Points (CCP) as per HACCP plan.
• Assist in preparations of all 3rd party audits including AIB GMP, Regulatory, Customer (SQMS), GFSI certification assessments, etc.
• Conduct sensory and physical product evaluations as per East the Company and Customer specifications and requirements
• Conduct shelf life testing as per the Company and customer specifications and requirements
• Conduct Packaging verification checks.
• Issue Non Conformance Reports to other departments when necessary
• Ensure on-line statistical process control (SPC) is in working order and perform and monitor testing as per the company requirements
• Monitor production, raw materials and finished product for Safety or Quality deviations and report non-conformances to superior.
• Monitor and check raw materials received against product specification and release product if attributes are within specification.
• Follow up and Complete all quality related documentation
• Conduct pH/TTA testing and report to Production Department
• Conduct QC checks as per Check sheet during shift
• Compiling of a report in a professional manner to Management after every shift
• Presenting Quality defects and recommendations to QA during weekly meetings
• Monitor GMP and HACCP practices in at EB Bakery
• Support projects aimed at quality enhancements, process improvements, and reduction of Customer concerns.
• Train personnel on GMP, HACCP, Allergen control and all other pertinent Quality systems if practices are not followed
• Day-to-day interaction with QA Manager to discuss quality strategies for the facility, and also discuss direction for improvement on Quality Systems
