Our client in Plastics Industry based in Brits are looking for a Materials Planner. This position is responsible for ensuring the complete supply chain of parts and material from receiving customer's requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Reviewing all stock ordering to ensure orders have been placed timorously to ensure zero future airfreights on components relating to incorrect planning.
· Monitor transport costs by ensuring a reduction in overall costs taking into account LCT factor
. Ensure relevant component inventory levels are in line or better than country inventory target.
· Monitor stock deliveries to ensure optimisation of transport arrangements at the SILS to avoid stock storage at external warehouse due to storage constraints at the SILS.
· Highlight any abnormal releases from customers which may cause abnormal stock situations.
· Follow correct LCT procedures to ensure shipments are loaded on time without any purchase price variances.
· Liaise with suppliers to ensure lead times are correct and adhered to.
· Carry out stock ordering for allocated components as per procedure.
· Assist in ensuring effective change level control to minimise obsolescence.
· Control all imported components documentation.
· Ensure stock and raw material level at local suppliers is monitored on a frequent basis to ensure minimum agreed stock levels are adhered to.
· Ensure visual stock control boards are in place and up dated according to required frequency.
· Keep all applicable visual documentation up to date.
· Ensure all reporting is carried out as per requirements and frequency.

Applicant must meet the following Minimum Experience & Qualifications:
· Grade 12.
· SAPICS or Logistics Management Certification/Diploma or relevant experience.
· Minimum of 5 years purchasing and/or Manufacturing, Planning and Control experience
· Computerised MRP systems experience, preferably SYSPRO
