Our client a leader in the long distance road transport industry has the following position available for a dynamic, strong and energetic candidate with the following experience:

REGIONAL MANAGER: TRANSPORT & OPERATIONS
NORTHERN CAPE AREA, UPINGTON

Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have an appropriate Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification will be essential.
- At least 5 years Road Transport Operations experience at management level.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact on a managerial level internally and externally
- A Good understanding of finance and statistics
- Must be Analytical and technical person
- Project Management skills are essential
- Taking ownership and leading the operational activities of the Company.
- Participating in commercial strategy, sales and marketing activities

Duties will include:
- Manage and oversee the Northern Cape regional operations consisting of line-haul fleet and warehouse applications.
- Ensure that the regional operation achieves all targets namely, required revenue, monthly km production targets , depot turn-around times , year on year growth, PBIT, ROIC etc.
- Ensure optimal planning of fleet.
- Ensure sustainability of the regional operation as a whole.
- Ensure that facilities (workshops) and equipment are maintained and in good working order.
- Build and maintain sound relationships with market in this region.
- Ensure that the company meets all SHEQ/HSE, Safety, Quality and on time delivery requirements of our customers.
- Involved with all projects costing.
- Ensure that follow up project audits are undertaken in order to ensure that any potential problems are highlighted and rectified.
- Attend company’s monthly management meeting and will report on achievements, problems /challenges, volumes, efficiency and opportunities.
- Ensure that the company is providing our customer with a cost effective, reliable and quality service.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by management
