Repairs/Commissioning Technician

Position is based in PINETOWN – KZN

Salary on offer:
R15k to R20k dependant on experience

Key Areas Of Responsibility Include:

1. Fault finding and repairing of variable speed drives soft starters
2. Client Technical liaison
3. Preparation of repair/service quotations
4. Administration – controlling and ordering of spares
5. On-site fault finding, repairs and commissioning

TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION, APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

Knowledge:
• Equivalent of 2 years electrical / industrial electronics tertiary education;
• Strong practical knowledge of power electronics, AC inverter drives and motor control automation

Skills:
• Good understanding of electrically driven machinery, automation, pumps and fans;
• Must be able to read and understand technical manuals and electronic circuit diagrams in order to analyse and repair faults and set up digital electronic drives and starters to suit required applications;
• Well developed English and Afrikaans language skills, especially in relation to oral and written communication;
• Computer Literacy – MS Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
• A valid driver’s licence

2. A well structured individual who can plan, organise and control the repair and commissioning functions, and meet required deadlines,

4. An emotionally resilient individual with well developed conflict handling skills in order to withstand pressure of work (breakdown situations) and to interact with sensitivity in conflict situations
