Urgent POSITION: Retail Manager (East Rand)
SALARY : R12 000.00 – R15 000.00

Dimension of Position

ü Is to deliver the budgeted Stock Turn Ratio and the Budgeted Gross Profit Percentage.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Retail Floor Appearance

Merchandising

ü All stock must be merchandised to the standards set out in the merchandising manual without exceptions at all times.

Cleanliness

ü The retail floor must be kept clean and tidy at all times. All fixture and fittings as well as stock must be clean and free of dust. The carpets must be vacuumed daily. The windows and glass fixtures must be clean at all times and the cash desk must be kept neat and tidy at all times.

Ticketing

ü Every single item on display must have a price ticket that is clearly visible to the average customer.

Signage

ü All high value items must have a feature card. Payment options must be displayed on all relevant items. Promotional signage must be controlled and updated.

Layout

ü The Store layout must be constantly maintained to ensure free and easy access to all parts of the store at all times.

2. Sales

ü Must ensure that the monthly sales target for the store are met. Each individual sales person must have a detailed budget broken into days. The Retail Manager must set and ensure that these sales targets are met and if a potential shortfall is identified, the balance must be made up by the Retail Manager.

3. Staff Management

The Retail Manager has full control and responsibility of the sales force, including:


ü Budgets

ü Discipline

ü Appraisal

ü Coaching

ü Lunchtime tables

ü Leave schedules

ü Daily and weekly staff meetings

4. CC Trader

The Retail Manager is responsible for controlling the following aspects within CCTrader:

ü Discounts

ü Refunds

ü Staff Performance

ü Lay buy’s

ü Markdowns

ü Stock takes

5. Training and Coaching

The Retail Manager is responsible for the following training in store:

ü Customer service

ü Sales

ü Telephone techniques

6. Reporting

On a monthly basis the Retail Manager will attend a Management Meeting where he/she will have to report on the following:

ü Staff Performance – Actual vs. Budget

ü Turnover – Actual vs. Budget

ü Sales by Department

ü GP by Department

ü Discounts

ü Repairs

ü Lay buys

ü Shrinkage

ü Gross Profit

ü Refunds

ü Stock Turn Ratio
