RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• To arrange access cards, onsite WAH and induction training.
• Ensure correct PPE is available on site.
• Conduct tool box and safety talks, including a risk assessment presentation.
• Able to produce a risk assessment form a method statement for a rigging activity.
• Work with an assigned client safety officer.
• Maintain an onsite safety file.
• Ensure safety is being adhered to.
• Attend daily on site meetings with client.
• Understand what the work of the day entails.
• Become a team member.
Overview:
• On site safety officer for 6 mth project based at Mobeni & Prospecton.
• Project shall involve Mechanical, Rigging & electrical trades.
• Expected manpower of 20 people.
• 6 to 7 day work schedule.
• 10hr on site day.
Structure:
• Site manager, assistant site manager & safety officer.
• Safety officer to report to the site manager based on site.
• Mechanical, rigging & electrical crews reporting to site managers.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. 5 + years experience as a safety officer
2. Previous experience as a safety office where mechanical, rigging and electrical trades are practised
3. Oversee the safety of 20 people
4. Able to work a 6 – 7 day schedule
5. 10hr on site day
6. Relevant safety qualifications – SMATRAC, HIRA etc
7. Have a good working understanding of the OSH Act
8. Own transport and valid drivers license

PACKAGE:
R16,000 to R20,000 (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)
