POSITION DESCRIPTION
To ensure that administration of Bursaries for internal and external beneficiaries and other Programmes operate within the guidelines of both the company and the Universities and that the procedures and payments are compliant with audit requirements. This includes budgetary control, making decisions on applications and applying sound judgement to solutions.
Minimum Requirements
? Minimum 5 years experience of operating a student record of similar system

SENIOR BURSARY ADMINISTRATOR
? Tertiary qualification in Business Administration or similar
? Diploma in Accounting will be an added advantage.
? Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
? Experience in Policy Formulation
? Experience in higher education administrative or bursaries environment will be an added advantage;
? Valid Driver’s License + own vehicle will be an added advantage
? Ability to travel

SENIOR BURSARY ADMINISTRATOR
? Ability to demonstrate an understanding of student needs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Effective implementation and maintenance of bursary process
? Capture bursary applications on spreadsheet;
? Assist with the drafting of bursary allocation letters for new intakes;
? Inform bursary holders about the outcome of their applications;
? Provide relevant documentation to successful candidates for completion;
? Update bursary database on semester and yearly basis;
? Respond to bursary related enquiries from external and internal stakeholders
& follow-ups;
? Conduct bursary audit of ± 80 bursary holders
? Verification of student documentation (ID, income, etc);
? Liaison with study institutions regarding student accounts and results;
? Follow up on & administer academic progress of bursars;
? Compilation, reconciliation, research and presentation of status/annual
reports to donors;
? Arrange and book campus visits with Stellenbosch University, University of
Cape Town, Wits University, University of KwaZulu Natal, University of
Johannesburg and Pretoria University;
? Capture and update SAP and SAP ESS transactions on bursary matters;
? Maintain student files and database, ensuring data integrity;
? Management of student payments and debtors;
? Assist in managing the bursary departments’ budget;
? Administer student budgets and reconcile reimbursements;
Monitoring of return on investment from bursary holders-
? Keep record of students’ progress;
? Update monthly expenditure report on bursary;

SENIOR BURSARY ADMINISTRATOR
? Implement the process of payments through Finance;
? Keep record of payments processed on a daily basis;
? Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on experiential learning;
? Implement study debt recovery;
? Make follow ups with students on outstanding documents;
? Provide detailed information regarding unresolved debt accounts;
? Prepare submissions for the suspension and withdrawals of bursaries;
? Facilitation of financial commitments towards effective implementation of the
bursary programme.
Effective Implementation of a marketing strategy for marketing the external bursary programme -
Co-ordinate visits with higher learning institutions as well as applicable career activation events;
Assist with compilation of marketing materials and updating of information on the company website in partnership with Marketing and Communications and IT;
? Assist students with interpretation of the bursary policy and inform the
students about the consequences of breaching the bursary contract.
