The ideal candidate for this role will need to work in partnership with the Group HR Manager as well as the business to provide a professional and proactive generalist HR service through building relationships providing accurate and sound HR advice and support to the Operations Management team
You will be responsible for delivering efficient and integrated Human Resources that meet the current and future needs of business while ensuring regulatory compliance is achieved on an ongoing basis


Key Performance Areas
Maintaining good employee relations
Provide day to day advisory service to the business on employment related issues and employment law with a blend of pragmatism and best practice HR ensuring consistency in application and adherence to company policy
Liaise with Line Managers to ensure the consistency and adherence to company guidelines developing Team Leaders understanding and implementation of IR principles against legislative requirements and Company policies
Provide first line advice on potential changes in terms and conditions working hours potential restructuring etc
Provide HR support and advice pertaining to grievance and disciplinary measures and providing an HR presence during investigatory meetings and disciplinary hearings
Guide managers on how to manage poor performance within their teams in line with company policy and best practice provide coaching tips and guidance on how to give feedback
Ensure all CCMA cases are appropriately managed so that the Company is correctly represented

Maintaining and implementing policies and procedures
Assist the HRM in the design and development of policies and procedures that best support the operational and Management needs of the business whilst adhering to legislative requirements
Work with the HRM HR Team and Managers on implementing best practice and company policy
Ensure consistent and correct application of company policy within area of responsibility through presentations and workshops

Talent Management
Actively assist HRM in the implementation of organisational change through the facilitation and coordination of change initiatives to bring about performance and cultural improvement
Ensure all employees have KPAs in place against which to manage performance levels that adequately reflects expected performance outcomes and defines appropriate competencies and behaviours of the role
Improve overall skill levels within area of responsibility by ensuring personal development plans are in place to address development needs and career aspirations

Organizational Development
Support the HRM with the implementation of organizational interventions and change management interventions where risks identified by the business
Facilitate the practical implementation of effective performance management based on Company processes within area of responsibility with ongoing monitoring of the process to ensure that all related activities are conducted within the allocated timeframes
Act as a change agent and role model providing the support and effective mechanisms to implement major changes to the operations of the business
When required assist the HR Manager with all aspects relating to restructuring within the business
Facilitate all team development processes including workshops exercises or programs to enhance the cohesiveness of teams

Mentoring and Management
You will need to supervise the HR Operations Team to ensure consistent application HR policies and procedures across all areas
Review work of all direct reports to ensure all work is up to date and properly completed
Exercise appropriate planning to ensure that staff deadlines for deliverables are met
Provide on the job training to ensure the ongoing development of staff within your team
Demonstrate an ability to develop effective teams drive efficiencies and always lead by example
Ensure that all direct reports have KPAs in place against which to manage performance levels
Ensure that all direct reports have development plans in place which appropriately identifies areas of personal and professional development goals
Provide regular feedback to all direct reports on their performance
Employment equity monitoring and reporting
Ensure the companys employment equity policy is adhered to in relation to employment promotion and disciplinary decision and processes
Provide advice on discrimination in the workplace where needed

Employee wellness
Actively promote the companys EAP to employees as well as Line Management
Identify employees at risk for assisted referrals and assist Management with the process of formal referrals

Corporate Social Investment
Promote and support CSI initiatives in line with Company requirements
Assist with the coordination communication and reporting on CSI initiatives undertaken throughout the business

Adhoc activities and projects
Support the HRM to deliver key annual projects in the business including Group Surveys Leadership Surveys and the biannual KPA process etc
Complete any ad hoc admin and projects as requested by the HRM

Requirements
A relevant 3 year Diploma or Degree specializing in Human Resources
Minimum of 5 years experience in HR within an Operations environment
Management experience of a team with at least 2 direct reports
Excellent labour relations experience with an up to date knowledge of employment law and employee relations is essential
Extensive CCMA case preparation and presentation up to and including Arbitration level is a prerequisite
Proven policy development and implementation skills
Must be competent in working on HR Systems VIP as well as on MS Office packages particularly MS Word Excel and Outlook
Exposure to HR best practice in a contact centre and/ or retail working environment is preferred
