Position: SENIOR PRODUCTION MANAGER (EE)
Package: Market Related salary package
Area: Pinetown, KZN

A vacancy exists for a Senior Production Manager within a large Manufacturing concern based in Pinetown, KZN. The role reports directly to the General Manager and with the assistance of line supervision, will be expected to manage the day-to-day production activities of the operation, including total control over quality, wastage, productivity and performance, safety, human resources, production targets and systems as well as other ad-hoc responsibilities.

Requirements will include:
• A qualified artisan trade i.e. Millwright, Electrician or Fitter and Turner together with a Tertiary level qualification OR
• A qualified artisan trade i.e. Millwright, Electrician or Fitter and Turner and actively studying towards a Tertiary level qualification
• Minimum 5 year Production Management experience in a senior line management level is essential
• Process Engineering or Mechanical background will an advantage
• Strong technical orientation
• Above average organizational skills
• Good working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and practices including the OHS Act;
• Excellent co-ordination, delegation and administrative abilities;
• An high level of numeracy, to analyse and interpret production related figures;
• Facilitation of factory/press maintenance;
• A strong customer service orientation;
• Good conflict-handling and Human Resources Management Skills;
• Ability to manage in a Unionised environment and
• Strong management and superior interpersonal and communication skills.
• The position further requires an assertive, deadline orientated, confident team-player with the ability to set and meet production targets, actively participate in finding solutions to client needs and operational problems, have strong team-leader skills and a pro-active goal-orientated self-starting approach.
