Job Title: Senior Security Officer

Job Description:

To provide a comprehensive Security service to ensure application and adherence to all organizational security policies and procedures.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Safeguard the Company and its employees/assets.
Investigate alleged offences in accordance with policies and procedures.
Conduct security risk assessments and audits.
Monitor and respond to high risk diamond processes and vulnerable areas.
Provide accurate reporting.
Design, manage and control shift rosters – including leave and transport of security personnel.
Supervise security personnel.
Implement strategies aimed at prevention of crime.
Monitor all applicable alarms/CCTV systems.
Ensure personal and co-workers adherence and compliance to Security and Company’s SHE objectives.
Required to work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done.

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12/ Standard 10
National Diploma or Degree in Security Management or related field
PSIRA registration – Grade B
Valid Driver’s license (EB)
Firearm Competency Certificate
Computer Literate (MS Office Suite)
5 years’ working experience in Diamond security preferably in a mining environment
Law enforcement training will be an advantage

Other Skills / Competencies:

Ability to communicate in English (written & verbal).
Knowledge and experience on diamond Plant processes and procedures.
Understanding and knowledge of diamond security surveillance and monitoring processes.
Knowledge and operation of diamond scanning machines.
Understanding of diamond exports.
Working knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act 51 of 1977.
Basic knowledge and experience of security systems, general surveillance and access control.
People skills & conflict resolution abilities.
