SHEQ Coordinator

Large blue chip Manufacturing company based in Vanderbijlpark is looking for a qualified and experienced EE Female candidate with
Candidates must already resides in the Vaal Triangle!!
To champion and enforce the implementation and compliance by all Vanderbijlpark factory employees to the Company’s Safety Standards and all relevant international and national (OHSA) legal requirements.

Qualifications:
•Grade 12
•Appropriate tertiary qualification

EXPERIENCE
•Minimum 4 years hands on experience working as the Safety Leader-Appointee in a
Manufacturing environment
•Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint & MS Access) and Report Writing
•Knowledge and training of OHSA will be an added advantage
•Advanced HSE Diploma through a recognized institution for example, NOSA would be an added advantage.
•1-2 years leadership experience and ISO 9000/1400 series knowledge would be an added advantage.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Legal Compliance
Ensure that the whole plant adheres to all applicable clauses of OHSA , local by-laws and the company’s international safety regulations, policies and standards.
Comply with both Group CMS reporting and preparing the relevant documentation for submission to the relevant authorities as per OHSA where appropriate.
Maintain a register of all SHE Legal Statues and any changes in the new legislation (government gazette) is filed, tracked and changes adhered and actioned upon.

Factory Inspections, Risk Assessment and Reports
Conduct risk assessments of all plant machinery, processes and ancillary equipment. This should extend to new plants and equipment during the design/commissioning.
Maintain records of accident statistics in accordance with legal procedures for management and central safety committee and provide stats as per Group reporting DFIR etc.
Compile and submit accurate Key Reports using KPI/BIC reports as per applicable schedule and Factory Manager of any serious safety concerns immediately.

Training, External Relations, Safety Action Roadmaps and Follow Up
As agreed with Factory Manager, conduct or facilitate safety training (OHSA and legislation, Press Operator, first aid, hazardous chemicals, electrical training etc) and education to company personnel to embed the culture of safety in our team.
Ensure that agreed Safety Action Plans and deadlines as per external and internal Management Safety Audits are adhered to and followed up.
Ensure that all the required internal and external safety audits are carried out as per the agreed schedules.
