JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Collate, verify and correct time records of all wage employees on the SAP- and Time and Attendance System on a weekly basis. Training, communicating and assist Wage Clerks on sites regarding SAP and Time and Attendance. Implementation and deployment of Time and Attendance systems, processes and procedures on new sites. Ensure compliance to company policies and Bargaining Council Main Agreement on conditions of service.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
• Responsible for the provision of an effective payroll input capture; administration and support function
• Collate, verify and correct time records before and after computer input
• Accurate data capture of all wage information in time for weekly payroll run (What data as this is a PA function)
• Ensure compliance to company policies and conditions of service (How will this role ensure compliance? Should it not be Monitor and control compliance?)
• Ensure that all employee files are correct and that all filing is timeously done in order to handle all queries quickly and efficiently
• Search employee files and furnish information to authorized persons. This include confirmation of employment
• Assist Clients and Managers with query resolutions
• Assist Wage Clerks and sites regarding good wage and Time and Attendance practises
• Training of Wage Clerks in the use of SAP and Time and Attendance Systems. (Only accredited trainers can train usage of SAP and the wage clerks is not using SAP)
• Perform Wage related audits on sites i.e. Shared Services records compared to Site records (We will not have access to Shared Services Records. Should it not be BU records vs Site records?)
• Update of Wage processes and systems to ensure compliance with overall company Payroll processes and requirements
• Ensure effective communication is maintained between HR, Shared Services and Sites regarding payroll matters
• Ensure timeous submission of all documents, hours and other information required to ensure accurate and on time payment of Hourly Paid employees

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum Grade 12 with mathematics (Mathematics forms a crucial component of competency)
• Diploma or Degree in a relevant field of study

EXPERIENCE:
• 2 – 3 years’ relevant Time Keeper or HR/ Payroll Administration experience
• SAP HCM experience beneficial
• Knowledge of the Main Bargaining Council Agreement for Civil Engineering conditions of service essential
• Knowledge of Buildsmart System (Wages)
• Knowledge of BSmart Mobile Time and Attendance or equivalent system

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Accurate capturing skills
• Sound working knowledge on MS Word, Excel and e-mail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good organisational abilities
• Ability to work with numbers and numerical/mathematical concepts. It includes specific aptitudes such as computation, statistical interpretation, facility with mathematical concepts, arithmetic reasoning, etc. (This is why Mathematics is compulsory)
• Able to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels within the organization
• Meticulous, accurate, accountable, strong attention to detail, well-organized, able to work independently and deadline driven
• Understand HR/Payroll terminologies and processes
