SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The systems manager is responsible for the overall day to day operation of the store in the absence of the manager. This includes being accountable for the daily staffing and general administrative duties as well as providing leadership in the area of customer service. System management includes configuration, security, resource monitoring and reporting, and the development of specialised programmes. Working with other operating systems where necessary, and working with connectivity with other computer systems.

DUTIES INLCUDE (but are not limited to):
• Greeting and serving customers when all current staff are busy.
• Being competent in all phases of work being done by sales people, drivers and assistants.
• Displaying skills in leadership.
• Being the liaison between the staff and management.
• Handling staff concerns.
• Opening and closing the store in the absence of the general manager.
• Preparing bank deposits
• Petty cash reconciliation
• Receiving inventory from sellers
• Determining customer needs
• Having knowledge of in store merchandise
• Restocking merchandise
• Keeping the store tidy and clean, including counters and seating areas.
• Assisting in training of sales and administration staff.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
• Write policies and procedures for all systems.
• Stock control.
• Safety and security measures enforced.
• Provides daily, weekly, monthly reports for management accounts, as well as forecasts of the business.
• Serves as a source of documentation and standard to help direct the activities of the business as a whole.
• Works closely with the General Manager.
• Identify potential areas where existing policies and procedure


SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Matric
• Attention to detail
• Strong administration skills
• Self starter
• Uses initiative
• Must be able to work unsupervised
• Must be able to make decisions and take accountability
• Computer literate – Intermediate Word and Excel
• Retail experience minimum 5 years
• Drivers license and own transport
• Sales experience (preferred but not essential)
• Experience with merchandising (preferred but not essential)
• Managed staff, HR experience (preferred but not essential)

CAREER LADDER:
This position would naturally lead into management activities rather than continued emphasis on strong administration skills.
