Technical Supervisor reporting to Technical Manager
Roles and Responsibilities
The company is a manufacturer of plant extracts and requires a maintenance supervisor to effectively manage all the plant, equipment and building maintenance.
• The running of the equipment in the factory/factories
• Minimising equipment downtime
• Ensuring that the buildings are kept in a good state of repair, including electrical connections, plumbing and sewerage, as well as the painting of the building and the maintenance of the garden
• Management of all maintenance staff
• Compiling budget
• Obtaining quotes on spares & ordering thereof
• Signing off on invoices
• Keeping critical spares in store
• Completing & signing off job cards and control thereof
• Effective running of “Preventative Maintenance” program
• Repairing machinery and equipment
• Design & construction of new equipment
• Co-ordinating projects
• Compiling details of projects with specifications and quotations
• Project management of project from design to completion
• Co-ordination of contractors and sub-contractors
• Detailing of expenses
• Control of calibrated equipment (6-month & annual calibrations)
• Keeping record of certificates & plant numbering
• Control of monthly safety inspections & meetings, recording of meetings and follow-up thereof
• Providing management review reports
• Management of water filtration and cleaning system
• Management of all factory waste
• Management of all beach operation maintenance
• Adhere to all OHS requirements
• Assist in all other departments as per operational requirements
Requirements and skills
• 3 years technical experience preferred
• 3 – 5 years factory maintenance management experience preferred
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Mechanical training an advantage
• Highly computer literate
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills and fluent in English
• Valid driver’s licence
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a team
• Good organisational and multitasking abilities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Observant
• Conflict resolution
• Meet strict deadlines
• Works well within a team
• Lives close to the Southern Peninsula
