An exceptional vacancy is available in Durban for a highly experienced and professional individual to resume the role of Technical Supervisor. This position will report directly to the Technical Manager

Essential requirements:
Matric/N4 minimum
N6 Trade tested Artisan or B Tech: Mechanical and Electrical is preferred
MS Office, SHE Management system, SAP or JDE exposure
Minimum 5 years experienece of supervising a workshop of artisans
Minimum 3 years experience of a SHE management system preferably ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
Minimum 8 years experience as a trade tested artisan working on hydraulics, pneumatics and assembly machines
Hard worker who is willing to work shifts and overtime when required
Have a good communication and writing skills in order to communicate with artisans
Ability to work independently as well as a team

Key responsibilities:
Supervise day to day activities of sub-ordinates to deliver on critical KPI's through performance management, coaching and sound employee relations
Supverise planned plant maintenance and ensure documentation is up to date
Partner with production departmen to optimize manufacturing efficiencies through continuous improvement activities
Effectively manage and control costs within the department with regards to resources, outsourcing, spares and overtime
Conduct daily root cause analysis on breakdowns to prevent recurrence. Record accurately on JDE / Q- Pulse all job cards for traceability and trend analysis
Assist in plant orijects as and when required
Implement standard operating procedures and safe work procedures and carry out planned job observations on them
Plan an dsupervise plant shutdown as and when required
Ensure that all statutory checks are carried out on relevant equipment
Effectively carry out and maintain the full SHE duties in accordance to OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001, and ensure that the plant achieves accreditation
